E-liquid is the very “soul” of your vaporizer experience. Without the right mixture of nicotine content, you get none of the buzz, none of the relaxation, but all of the withdrawal symptoms.
But what makes an e-liquid manufacturer the “best”? What’s the difference between good and bad e-liquid?
What concentration of nicotine should you look for in an e-liquid?
E-liquid comes in a variety of nicotine concentrations because different vapers have different needs and cravings. Obviously, if you’re coming off a pack of cigarettes or more per day, you’re not going to enjoy e-liquid with a low concentration of nicotine.
24 milligrams is a pretty high strength for the average vaper switching over. It’s up to you whether you want to gradually reduce the nicotine level to no-nicotine e-liquids or find a level that you enjoy.
While there is no standardized chart for this, in general:
- Low means 4-8 milligrams of nicotine per milliliter
- Medium means 10-15 milligrams of nicotine per milliliter
- High means around 20 milligrams of nicotine per milliliter
- Extra strength means 25+ milligrams of nicotine per milliliter
What flavor of e-liquid should you get?
So much of the quality depends on the flavor. If you’re used to smoking Marlboros and suddenly switch to coconut, of course you’re going to dis e-cigs! Stick to what you like.
There are many imitation menthol, tobacco and for the more daring, dessert flavored e-liquids with everything from pie to chocolate to fruit and candy. Stick to your favorites, become accustomed and then experiment with new ones.
Is PG or VG e-liquid better?
Look for labels PG and VG. PG is higher potency, but VG is popular with some vapers because of their sensitivity to higher concentration.
The VG does actually give out more vapor than the PG type, but this also shortens the lifespan of the atomizer piece.
What should you look for when buying an e-liquid?
There are just a few things to check when analyzing e-liquid quality
- American-made quality (don’t risk an imported product)
- Pharmaceutical Grade for safety, sterility and quality
- Free of harmful substances like Diacetyl or Vitamin E Acetate
- FDA-registered, with full transparency
- Only basic ingredients, no filler – Just water, Propolyne Glycol (Vegetable Glycerin), safe food flavoring and nicotine.
Why is the manufacturing process of e-liquids so important?
Because the secret to good-tasting and safe e-liquid is making it in a high-tech facility, protecting the liquid from open air. Believe it or not, the best producers (such as yours truly) actually wear huge hazmat-like outfits just to avoid getting any contaminants in the e-liquid or around it.
Even before the liquid is packaged into cartomizers, the best companies in the industry perform over 30 individual tests checking for flavor quality, vapor production capability and ridding it of any contaminants. The lab is perfectly clean. The employees are clean and 100% protected from influencing the purity of the product.
Then…just when you’d think it’s all over, we test it three more times!
The liquid is perfectly, immaculately, clean. That’s what makes a truly great vaping experience.
